ijliao 在我的 blog 上提到 phk 長輩募款速度超快… (啊啊，我剛剛誤砍了他的 comment)

我其實不知道這件事情 (不過回想起來有印象，好像在 irc 上有看到幾句)，於是我跑去問 ijliao 到底是什麼事情，他叫我自己去 Google phk fundrasing，於是我找到這個：Fundraising for FreeBSD development…

由於他沒工作了，所以問 FreeBSD Community 是否願意幫助他解決金錢上的問題，而在 2004 下半年全力 (full-time) 發展 FreeBSD：

“The specific goals is to get the entire disk and device I/O path out from under the “Giant” lock. And at the same time untangle as much as possible of the code to make it “future proof””

其中完整的 plan 可以參考 Planned work during funded period。

然後我發現 Donations 名單中，有一筆 USD$20025 的款項，換算過來大約六十七萬台幣，大概是這家公司用 FreeBSD 用得很凶 :p (看網頁上的介紹是做 Webhosting 的，難怪…)

不過就算不看這筆 donation，其他的 donations 也是超快… (可能是由於 slashdot 報導了 “Funding An Individual BSD Developer” 的關係)

果然如同 ijliao 所講的，募款速度超快 :p
