看到 ijliao 對於 PChome 的垃圾信超怒的啊，我現在看到一篇就送去 SpamCop 一篇…
麻煩多一點人幫忙啊，因為 SpamCop 對於 spam report 的部分，只要有兩個人 report 同一個 IP 所發出來的廣告信，就會把他列入 DNSBL (bl.spamcop.net) 裡：(What is the SpamCop Blocking List (SCBL)?)
The SCBL will not list an IP address with only one report filed.
MAPS 被 Trend Micro 買下？

Bayesian 的應用
在 Slashdot 上看到的：Can a Bayesian Spam Filter Play Chess?，將 Bayesian 拿到西洋棋上應用。
我猜應該有人做過才對，畢竟這兩個東西擺在一起不意外？
TWNIC member Spam 的行為
自從我在 Ching’s Weblog 敬.網.誌 留言過後，我固定一陣子就會收到該 blog 的更新紀錄，我受不了這類未經同意就 spam 的行為，所以我做了兩件事情：
- 回報到 SpamCop，將 211.72.210.250 視為 Spam Source。
- 以 e-mail 通知 chiao (Spammer), abuse (RFC), snw (DNS SOA RR) @ twnic.net.tw，停止 spam 行為。

垃圾論文
Slashdot 上的 Study Finds Value in Email Spam 這篇文章是說，研究員找了大約 2100 個加拿大人，分成兩組，其中一組每個禮拜都會收到「減肥對於身體健康好處」的廣告信，而另外一組則不會收到。在進行了十二個禮拜後，收廣告的那組 BMI (Body Mass Index) 平均值降低了。
但這代表什麼？廣告信與身體健康有幫助嗎？不，這只證明了：如果有人告訴他們關於「減肥對身體健康的好處」，那麼他們就會試著去做。
所以下面的 comment 寫的很諷刺，直接挑明了這篇垃圾論文只是在混淆視聽：(我只引用了前半段)

You know what else is good?If you have a fat wife or fat children, you should tell them they’re fat several times a day. And tell them they need to lose weight. And do it in front of company when people visit. And when they’re at the dinner table, tell them they don’t need seconds when they reach for something, because they’re fat.
And tell your daughter she’s ugly, so she’ll do something about her face and maybe get some cosmetic surgery. And tell your son how stupid he is every chance you get so he’ll be compelled to be an educated man.

Hotmail 提供 IP Owner 察看有多少信與 Spam 寄到 Hotmail
微軟的 Hotmail 提供 IP Owner (看不出來是根據什麼資料決定的？) 到 Hotmail 上查該 IP Range 寄到 Hotmail 的信有多少，另外可以看有多少被判為 Spam：Microsoft Offers Tools to Spamming ISPs。
這個 idea 讓我想到一些東西可以做，也許到時候來試看看？
Gmail 被 SpamCop 擋掉
剛剛在 TaoSecurity 看到 Gmail 被 SpamCop 擋掉的文章：Spamcop blocking Gmail。
看了一下文章內所提到的 IP address 64.233.162.202 (zproxy.gmail.com)，再查一下 SpamCop，果然被列進去了：

查了一下 SpamCop 的紀錄發現看起來是被 User Report 進去的？Query bl.spamcop.net – 64.233.162.202。

複雜的 UTF-8 世界
昨天一整天在弄 FreeBSD 5.x 上面配合 putty 的 UTF-8 環境，包括了 screen、mutt、vim、irssi、centericq 以及一些台灣常用的套件。(主要是 BBS 的問題)
screen 的問題在 ronnywang 那邊有看到解法：解決用putty看全形字會變一半的問題了!!，其中比較值得慶幸的是新版 putty 已經將 patch import 進去了，不需要在依照原文所寫的方式自己硬幹。不過 screen 還是要自己硬幹，包括改 code 與抓 yjchou 學長所提供的檔案，不過這邊在不斷的 dirty hack 後的代價相當值得，至少上 BBS 完全沒有感覺了。
再來是 irssi 的部分，透過 ports 安裝的版本必須自己去抓 recode.pl 丟進 autorun 的 script directory，不過目前看起來也都還相當正常。
vim 的部分畢竟本來就相當注重 UTF-8 的環境，只要把 termencoding 設成 utf-8 (或 utf8，在 vim 裡都可以用) 就運作的相當正常。
真正的問題在於 centericq 與 mutt 對 UTF-8 計算字寬的問題。
像是 centericq 的畫面就可以發現 Unicode 邊框的問題處理的不太好：

實際算了一下發現都是直接把 UTF-8 word 的長度當作顯示在螢幕上的寬度，於是就…
果然 UTF-8 的世界很複雜啊… :(
