在 No IE7 For 2k, Now In Extended Service 引用了 IEBlog 的 Windows 2000 moves into Extended Support after June 30th 這篇文章：
It should be no surprise that we do not plan on releasing IE7 for Windows 2000. One reason is where we are in the Windows 2000 lifecycle. Another is that some of the security work in IE7 relies on operating system functionality in XPSP2 that is non-trivial to port back to Windows 2000.

其實還是可以感覺到底子不夠，翻起來很痛苦… (中間 DOM 的那段，我跟 DOM 不熟 :~)

Slashdot 的 There Is No Safe Web Browser 這篇文章從 Netscape 這次 Critical Update 講到 IE/Firefox 的種種，得出了相當有趣的結論：There is no ‘safe’ Web browser。
在 Slashdot 的 Mozilla Uncooperative With OSS Groups on Security? 這篇文章裡面提到了 Ben Goodger (Firefox 開發人) 說：
redistributions of the official Mozilla releases are never going to give you security updates as quickly as Mozilla
(他的意思是說「當出現安全問題時，提供複製版本的人絕對沒辦法像官方版本那麼快更新」)
而 Christopher Aillon (RedHat Desktop Team 負責 Browser 的部分) 則說：
I’d like to note that if this is true, it is because of mozilla.org isn’t playing by the same rules that other open source projects play by.
(簡單來說就是「他媽的你不合作當然更新不夠快」)
然後舉了 RedHat 的 RHEL 與 Fedora 的例子來說明 Firefox team 的動作實在是個鳥蛋 :p
其實在昨天一群人 (ijliao、hlb、ronnywang、steelgate、我) 用 Skype 講垃圾話 (註) 的時候，hlb 就有提到這個東西：Wikalong。
剛剛在「Wikalong，個人化的共同註記」與「Wikalong」又看到了這個東西， 我猜應該是哪邊有在討論吧？不然看起來也沒出新版，怎麼大家都拿出來講 :p
Anyway，在技術上來說，這個東西的後端是用 Kwiki 當作 Wiki Platform，前端有 Firefox Extension 可以用，理論上可以再寫 IE Extension 進去啦，不過好像沒有人想寫 XD

在 Slashdot 上看到 Firefox 的推廣影片：Firefox Promo Videos，原網站在 http://funnyfox.org/，不過受到 Slashdott Effect 影響，用 http://funnyfox.org.nyud.net:8090/ 會比較好 :P
Boing Boing 介紹了一個在 browser 內內嵌 browser 的東西：Browser-in-browser hack，除了一般的網頁以外，還可以讀 RSS (我猜是透過 XSLT 做的)。

中午的時候跟 ashley 大姊聊到要怎麼躲過邪惡的 MIS 偷聽你的 HTTP Request，因為並不是每個站都有提供 HTTPS…
我的解法是透過 ssh 連到一台「安全」的機器幫你做一個 tunnel 連到 proxy server，這裡的「安全」是指 MIS 管不到的範圍 :p
我以 ccca.nctu.edu.tw 這台機器為例子把 127.0.0.1:3128 開一個通道到 140.113.54.50:3128 (交大的 Cacheflow Proxy)，然後再將 IE 或 Firefox 設 proxy 到 127.0.0.1:3128：
