O’Reilly 與 Slashdot

在 Boing Boing 看到 Slashdot 把 O’Reilly Emerging Tech 給 ban 掉了：Slashdot bans O’Reilly Emerging Tech!。

不過… 這是因為有 400 個 user 用同一個 IP 的關係：(所以基本上只是個意外而已)

There are about 400 geeks here running RSS readers that are pulling Slashdot’s feed from behind the same IP address, as Slashdot’s systems have interpreted this as one user repeatedly reloading it.

Apple 取得 iTunes.co.uk 控制權

The Register 的新聞，Apple 搶得 iTunes.co.uk：Apple wins iTunes.co.uk case。

用「搶得」這個詞的原因是：

iTunes.co.uk was registered in November 2000, and redirected to a music search engine on CyberBritain. Apple only launched its UK service in June last year – four years later.

換句話說，跟即使你四年前就註冊，而且使用，仍然會因為商標及種種因素，你會被告，然後這個 domain 就被搶回去。

在 ijliao 的「去大陸當網路蟑螂吧」同樣提到了 .cn 也有這個鳥問題。

不過，這幾年在台灣比較有名的新聞應該是「台北 101」的例子：「Dreamer and the city，城市的夢想家」的 taipei101.com 及 taipei101.com.tw：http://www.taipei101.com/domain.htm。

Slashdot 提到 Online Poker

不要緊張，這篇不是 spam @_@

在 Slashdot 上的「‘Online Poker’ Googlebomb」提到為了反制這些 poker spam，他們決定將 “Online Poker” 這個關鍵字指到 Wikipedia 去 (因為 Wikipedia 的 PageRank 相當高)，以抵制現在的 poker spam…

換句話說，利用 Googlebomb 的方式把這個關鍵字指到 Wikipedia。

這果然是超符合我胃口的方式啊… (雖然如 Slashdot 所說，並不是每個人都喜歡)

Blogger API

雖然 Google 的 Blog 一向被認為比 Yahoo! Search Blog 枯燥 (因為沒有互動性，而且都是拿來當公告)，不過還是很多人訂閱…

今天在上面看到 Blogger API update，主要幾個大的改變就是支援 SSL 以及國際化的 support。

除了內容以外，仔細看這段：

其中 feed 的 link 居然是連到 feedburner 而非直接提供用戶連結？我記得 feedburner 沒被 Google 買掉啊？
